Pastor’s Corner
Get out!
Get out! A great storm is headed
your way! This was the cry time
and again of the weather bureau
in Washington, D. C. in 1900 to
Galveston, Texas. The citizens
of Galveston had never seen a
storm like the one that was
coming. They just scoffed at the
warning of the weather bureau.
At that
time there was an iron bridge
that connected the island to the
mainland. In the middle of the
night, a wife awakened her
husband saying, “Maybe you’d
better close the window. The
rain and the wind are beginning
to fall.” Before the night was
over, a great tidal wave washed
over the entire island. That
iron bridge was snapped as
though it was a matchstick, and,
they counted their dead by the
thousands.
“ 3 Knowing
this first, that there shall
come in the last days scoffers,
walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying,
Where is the promise of his
coming? for since the fathers
fell asleep, all things continue
as they were from the
beginning of the creation.” 2
Peter 3:3-4 (KJV). Today, we
hear these cries. But remember
“ 9 The Lord
is not slack concerning his
promise, as some men count
slackness; but is longsuffering
to us-ward, not willing that any
should perish, but that all
should come to repentance.” 2
Peter 3:9 (KJV). Pray for,
invite, and commit to revival,
October 3 through 6th
, with Rev. Tommy Mounts. God is
still at work. Let us work with
Him!
